Advice for Trail Runners: Run on the trails in more comfort with the Brooks Women's Caldera 6. Made with more cushioning than a lot of road shoes, we expect you'll feel protected.
Underfoot Feel
As it's made for comfort, the Brooks Women's Caldera 6 trail running shoes features DNA LOFT v3 cushioning. If you don't know, this is Brooks most cushioned material to date. This super soft cushioning protects your feet and legs on hard-packed trails.
Your feet sit securely within raised midsole walls. Meaning it keeps you feeling stable over uneven terrain. While the wide base provides further stability, a split-heel design ensures it adapts to uneven terrain.
TrailTack rubbers grips wet and dry surfaces. Although, we don't recommend this type of grip for muddy trail runs.
Upper Fit
The hexagonal shapes on the toe box are not just for aesthetics. That's because the Brooks Caldera 6 features a TPU toe cap to protect your feet from hard objects. The rest of the upper overlays are printed on, as this provides structure and durability without compromising breathability.
In our experience, the upper of the Brooks Caldera 6 trail running shoes feels spacious in the toe box. If you're running long distance on trails, such as ultras, the shaping should accommodate swelling feet. At the same time, the midfoot saddle supports your feet and keeps you in control on uneven ground.
Ideal Run Type
The Brooks Caldera 6 trail running shoes feel very cushioned and supportive. These attributes, alongside a grippy outsole, make these perfect for running long distances on off-road terrain.
Given that the Caldera is more cushioned than a lot of road shoes, we know a lot of runners will find it comfortable for door-to-trail running too. Finally, if you run in a stability road running shoe, we expect the Brooks Caldera 6 to be one of the better trail running shoes for your running style.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
