Andrew Logan jewellery includes brooch pins, each of which is handcrafted and unique. His unisex lapel brooches each bears Andrew Logan’s signature and the date it was created. Andrew Logan designed this brooch, named 'The Wishing Tree' in 2021 and he hopes his one-off piece of wearable sculpture brings you joy.
This noteworthy brooch features a 400 year old piece of Mulberry bark, given from a felled tree in St Davids, to form the trunk of the Wishing Tree which is then embellished with ten pink/green round crystals and one pink, hemispherical glass bead surrounded with green and gold glitter. A lone female figure stands at the base of the tree, wearing a hand painted pink dress and encircled with green glitter. The backdrop to the Wishing Tree is a semicircle of sky-blue glass, set into black resin and overlaid with an irregular strip of green glass. The edges of the resin are encrusted with mainly green and blue glitter.
The brooch measures approximately 14 by 10.5 cm at its widest parts and weighs around 125 g. The depth of the brooch is around 3 cm where the tree bark protrudes from the landscape. It can be attached to your favourite garment as a statement piece of wearable art, using a safety pin embedded in the reverse side.
